You have until 29 July for a free Windows 10 upgrade

Microsoft have now officially announced that those with Windows 7 or Windows 8 need to upgrade to Windows 10 by 29 July for it to be free.

So unless you have some clear reason for not upgrading (there are problems with some laptops that we know of) you should seriously consider the free upgrade in the next month or so.  Don't leave it right ot the end!

We only have one more scheduled Windows 10 Ugrade Day (Deal Centre, 22nd June - see Calendar) but if you'd like Highway to do a workshop upgrade (members only) we are charging just £36.00 for the job, which can often take many hours to complete.  You would be without your machine for a couple of days, depending on when you can get it to us and back.

Microsoft have just said that they "might" be launching the next version of Windows 10, Redmond, in June. Not sure how this will affect the free upgrade. As soon as I have information I will post it here

Microsoft has confirmed that the free offer to upgrade to Windows 10 will cease on July 29th. If you want Windows 10 after that you will have to pay for it.

Well I'm afraid that the final date for the free upgrade to Windows 10 has passed. We now have the "latest" version of Windows 10 - Anniversary edition. During the next few weeks I will be looking at the pricing and options for Windows 10.
