Anyone using the lidded 5032s for long term document storage
My wife has been going through her late father's old paperwork and we've got stacks of stuff we're not ready to part with but definitely can't leave in those damp cardboard bankers boxes anymore especially with how humid it gets in our Ajman apartment near the creek. I was looking at the https://www.crateco.ae/productlist/5032-series-lidded-crate and wondering if the lid actually snaps down tight enough to keep the silverfish out and the musty smell at bay for a few years under the bed. She's worried about the plastic off gassing and yellowing the paper or something like that but I figure it's got to be better than the alternative which is losing half these papers to mold before we even get around to scanning them properly. Also can you actually write on the side with a sharpie or do you need to tape a label on there because I'm not trying to open seven identical crates looking for one birth certificate.
