Just when you thought that CCTV and face recognition software had just about got everyone 'covered', there is now a machine that can lip-read better than a 'professional lip-reader'.

LipNet is an artificial intelligence system that can watch a video of a person speaking and match text to the movement of their mouths.  It claims 93% accuracy against a mere human that can only get about 60% of the words.
