Best Options for Makita 18V Battery Replacements?

Hey folks, I’ve been using Makita tools for a while now, mainly for woodworking and small home projects. My Makita 18V battery has started showing its age, and I’m trying to figure out the best route for a replacement. I know the original Makita batteries are solid, but the price is a bit steep when you need more than one. Has anyone here had good luck with aftermarket Makita 18V batteries? I’m mostly concerned about run time, safety, and whether they fit well in older drills and saws. Some of my tools are a few years old, so compatibility is important. For those who do a lot of shop work or jobsite use, do you prefer sticking with OEM batteries, or have aftermarket ones kept up for you? Any brands or sellers you’d recommend? I’m leaning toward grabbing a couple of spares so I can keep rotating them during longer woodworking sessions. Curious to hear what works best for you all, especially if you’re running saws or sanders that pull more power than drills. Thanks in advance!
