Remove Apple QuickTime

Some may have the media player called QuickTime on their Windows computer.  This is software produced by Apple and was needed originally if you were using iTunes on your computer.  That hasn't been the case since 2011 as iTunes now has its own built-in media player.

Its use for anything else was rather limited and now Apple has now stopped support for it on Windows computers, which means any security flaws identified won't be 'patched' (dealt with).  You may occasionally have seen it asking to be updated with iTunes and iCloud for Windows.

So if you do have QuickTime installed on your computer, it would be wise to uninstall it.

I don't use iTunes, so should I uninstall that as well?

Yes but iTunes does a lot of great things... have you ever used Podcasts?

What is a Podcast?

Chris R Anthony on 5/5/16
According to Wikipedia:

A podcast is a form of digital media that consists of an episodic series of audio, video, digital radio, PDF, or ePub files subscribed to and downloaded automatically through web syndication or streamed online to a computer or mobile device.[1] The word is a portmanteau of "(i)Pod" and "broadcast."

A podcast's distributor maintains a list of audio or video files in a series on a server as a web feed, and the listener or viewer uses special client application software, known as a podcatcher, to access this web feed, check it for updates, and download any new files in the series. This process can be automated so that new files are downloaded automatically, which may seem to the user as though broadcast or "pushed" to them. Files are stored locally on the user's computer or other device, ready for offline use.[2][3] Podcasting contrasts with webcasting (Internet streaming), which generally isn't designed for offline listening to user-selected content.
